What to expect. . .
On your initial visit, you will be warmly greeted by Georgina and asked to complete a brief confidential form asking for your contact details and answers to questions relating to your general health, lifestyle and wellbeing. This will enable Georgina to discuss any health issues with you, understand the reasons for treatment and your expectations. A short explanation of Reiki and what to expect will then be given before we settle in for your treatment.
You remain fully clothed during the treatment but you will be asked to remove your shoes, watch and glasses and be made comfortable lying down on a massage couch, or seated in a chair. Georgina begins the treatment with her hands lightly touching your face over your eyes, proceeding to other positions on your head and the front of the body. If you do not wish to be touched please say because the Reiki will work just as well off the body and your comfort is paramount. You may feel heat, tingling or coolness as your body takes in the Reiki energy. You may feel these sensations more in certain areas where more energy is flowing or you may feel nothing very much at all apart from a deep sense of comfort and peace. Many people drift in and out of sleep, most say it is the most relaxed they have felt in a long time. There is no massage or manipulation in the session just a light placing of the hands on the body. No intimate areas will be touched. During your treatment you may choose to be quiet so as to truly calm your mind and body but you are encouraged to speak up if you feel uncomfortable in any way or need to ask a question.
Half way through you may be asked to turn over on to your front and the treatment continues from your shoulders, down your back and to your feet. You will be asked to lie on your side at the end of the treatment so you can relax and to sit up when you are ready. You will be offered a glass of water.
Reiki is not used to diagnose conditions but at the end of the treatment you may wish to discuss the sensations you felt and get feedback about where energy was drawn the most. You will be asked to set aside some time to relax and be encouraged to drink plenty of water for several days after the Reiki treatment. Georgina likes to contact clients a few days later to check how they feel.
Georgina also offers Distant Healing or Remote Reiki treatments. This may be helpful when you cannot comfortably leave your home for reason of illness, medical treatment or personal choice. The Reiki is sent by Georgina from Roundwood to the client at their home. The client receives the full benefit of the Reiki energy without any physical contact.
Please be aware that Reiki may not be suitable for people with certain medical conditions like epilepsy. If you are unwell, recieving medical treatment and unsure if Reiki is for you, please consult your GP or call Georgina who will be happy to advise you.
